So, the story begins...
Me and my family are fond of discovering religious spots the most. The season of travelling for our family is September. We all decided to meet Bankebihari in Vrindavan—the famous temple in Mathura Vrindavan along with exploring different places as well.
We booked an Ertiga from Delhi, reached Mathura, and stayed in a hotel. In the evening, we dressed up and went out to explore the famous temples in Mathura. The local people suggested we should visit Bhuteshwar Mahadev Temple.
It’s one of the famous temples in Mathura Vrindavan. It is to be said that the shivling in Bhuteshwar temple has been established in Mathura as a protector of Brijwaasi, where it’s felt and believed that the shield between our physical world and spiritual world is very thin. It means you can clearly experience the presence of powerful energies, bringing positivity and mysteries to unfold.
Moreover, it is inside the core of a village, within walking distance. According to the locals, devotees come to seek the blessings of Bhuteshwar Mahadev for the liberation of negative energies and ancestral curses.
The temple's unique architecture and potent energy create an atmosphere that is both captivating and peaceful.
Along with Bhuteshwar Mahadev, there are other gods present to seek blessings. In addition, there is a shivling, which is countless years old and in perfect condition.
The Unexplored Shaktipeeth in Mathura to Must-Visit
Now here comes the hot topic of this article. An unexplored Shaktipeeth in Mathura. After seeking blessings of Bhuteshwar Mahadev, we were guided downwards with a flight of stairs, and the energy was completely different, as if the atmosphere were untouched by the time. The atmosphere was cold and peaceful, and our eyes saw a beautiful and fiery murti of a devi.
She was Maa Pataal Devi, one of the most powerful Shaktipeeth in Mathura, residing in Pataal. It is said that Mata Sati’s ringlet (small curl of hair) was dropped from the sky when Lord Vishnu ripped Mata Sati’s body when Shiv Ji was carrying her corpse in his lap.
Maa Pataal Devi’s famous temple in Mathura is underground, and photographs are not allowed, even though you aren’t allowed to enter her Garv Goofa (Cave). You can seek her blessings at the gate and ask Pandit to dedicate the things you want to offer her.
The most shocking and miraculous thing about Maa Pataal Devi is that she’s very active and alive, as her hair grows and falls on the own. Shocking, Right? Yaa, I know. Even though I was jaw-dropped.
