Phir Se Benares Ki Mashoor Galliyon Mein Aapka Swagat Ha! Varanasi, the city of Shiva has several ancient temples and amazing street foods to explore. This city of India is also known for its incredible gullies, which showcase the real beauty & identification of Benares. However, a few of us know about many other oldest sweet shop in Varanasi.
But, today I've brought a must-visit mithai ki dukaan where I reached out of nowhere. Yeah! This was a coincidence but worth it.
Let's have a short glimpse of one of the best sweet shops in Varanasi which tantalized my taste buds with its finest mithai collection.
Oldest Sweet Shop in Varanasi Popular for its Purity
This is how I found the shop. My sister and I were searching for an authentic sweet shop in Thatheri bazaar. We passed from one gully to another asking locals nearby but couldn't find one.
Then a gentleman suggested the best Benarasi mithai offered by the oldest sweet shop in Varanasi. We went there and gazed at all the Mithai collections and I was mouthwatering as I have the biggest sweet tooth in my family, Haha!
The Sweet Shop's Name is "Rasvanti"
As the oldest sweet shop in Varanasi, it also looks ancient with no fancy or modern changes.
There are no further developments made to the shop. It is the same as it used to be as many years ago.
After all, you can see many shops the same as they used to be in the initial days. But yes! The taste they offer has also never changed and is loved by the locals and tourists.
The sweets here are prepared traditionally. The sweetmakers are professionals and they never fail to craft a perfect piece of mithai.
Here, I ordered 6 different mithai which were:-
Banarasi Parwal, Chamcham, Raskadam,Besan Ladoo, Kesariya Peda, and Malai Gillori. They all tasted yummy and were prepared with pure milk and premium-quality ingredients.
Among these, I became a fan of 4 sweets that are the must-try:-
Malai Gillori- A triangular-shaped green color sweet wrapped with buffalo milk malai and stuffed with pure mawa and pista nuts.
Kesariya Peda- Several hours-boiled milk with kesar and a limited amount of sugar turned into a small button-shaped mithai.
Besan Ladoo- Finely roasted besan in desi ghee and sugar syrup and then handcrafted into a shape of laddoo. This mithai has the balanced taste of besan and desi ghee.
Chamcham- A long cylindrical shaped mithai made with chhena (chisel). Chenna is made with milk by adding a lemon or vinegar to transform it. The color of chamcham is orange and tastes amazing.
There are plenty of sweet choices this top sweet shop in Varanasi named Rasvanti is offering.
Address- CK 21/24, Sugga Gali, Thatheri Bazar, Govindpuri, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

While you plan to visit Benares, make sure you're ready to walk a lot. It is because rickshaws, cars, and bikes cannot fit into the tiny gullies.
Apart from this, lots of Shiva temples and a single person chanting "Har Har Mahadev" will fill your soul with peace and spirituality.
This is the purity of this place, giving you the reason why you should believe in Parabramha (Supreme God).
